The late David Foster Wallace is arguably one of the most influential writers of recent history. His books include the highly regarded novel, Infinite Jest. And beyond being an excellent writer, his insight into the human condition is staggering and touching. In his commencement speech given to Kenyon College class of 2005, he highlighted how education can teach us to be more aware of the truth that surrounds us, leading us to more compassionate lives. His message is one of tolerance and understanding, which remains pertinent and inspiring.
