You are invited to join us for a virtual gallery exhibit and poetry reading, Shelter-in-Place: Art and Poetry Collaboratives. The show features collage artwork created by artist Sue Bradford, and the poems inspired by the art written by the Solstice Writers. Bradford created the collection of 18 collages during the first six months of COVID-19 pandemic. Each piece and each poem is a unique reflection of the artist’s and poet’s experience of living under Shelter-in-Place orders.
Come and enjoy the eclectic expressions sparked by these collaborations! Thursday, April 29, 2021, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.

The creative gathering “Next Poem to Picture” will be held Sat May 8, 2:00-4:00 PM at Gallery at the Yountville Community Center. The event will allow participants to view the new exhibit “Yountville Artists x 3” and write a poem about a chosen painting. The artists Nancy Gates, Yvonne Houbraken Bundy and Jeff Spratt will be on hand to discuss their creative approaches.
“Next Poem to Picture” is a collaboration between Napa County Poet Laureate Marianne Lyon and Yountville Arts. All those interested are invited to try their hand at writing about images that grace the walls of the gallery. No experience with poetry is required—just bring a pen and paper or notebook. After everyone has finished, participants will be encouraged to share their poems. Assistance will be provided during the afternoon by Marianne Lyon and Yountville Arts Chair Jim Mc Donald, both of whom have several poems that accompany specific paintings in the exhibit. A similar successful creative event was held April 11.
Participants will be allowed into the gallery in small socially distanced groups. Masks are required in the gallery. “Next Poem to Picture” and “Yountville Artists x 3” are presented by Yountville Arts. The exhibit “Yountville Artists x 3” runs through Fri June 4.
