Nearby events – all welcome guests from Napa.

Benicia First Tuesday poets is all open mic with maybe a ten minute reading by one of the regular attenders.  Usually followed by an open mic.

Healdsburg Literary Guild (both poets and fiction writers, and their “Literary Laureate” can be a fiction writer or a poet.)  Usually followed by an open mic. Very friendly group.  They usually meet on the third Sunday of the month.  Their website, which includes schedule, is  http://hbglitguild.org/  Their next meeting is Sunday, the 19th.

Benicia First Tuesday poets meet every First Tuesday at the Benicia Library, social hour at 6:30, open mic begins at 7 p.m.   Lots to take from them about organizing readings, publishing books, etc.  See their schedule at the Library website, http://www.benicialibrary.org/poet/events.

InCrockett, there is the “Valona Deli Poetry Series,”  usually features readings by a couple of “well known” poets, followed by a short open mic, usually the second Sunday of the month.  They are listed on the Bay Area Open Mic website, athttp://www.bayareaopenmics.com/venue.php?venueRef=251&dayRef=7&regionRef=.    Please contact them for details before driving there.

Perhaps some of the NVWs will want to carpool sometime and bring back more information!
